Before putting on your skis, check the snow conditions at Rifflsee - Pitztal one last time.
Height and quality of the snow, date of the last snowfall, today's weather, temperature, wind... all the information you are looking for to have a great day of skiing. Please note Rifflsee - Pitztal snow reports are sourced directly from the ski resort and are only recorded during the official ski season's opening to closing dates.
Rifflsee - Pitztal is located in Tyrol, high in the Pitztal valley near Mandarfen and St. Leonhard im Pitztal, close to the Pitztal Glacier. The ski area has a distinctly alpine feel, with open slopes, views towards the Ötztal Alps and access to skiing up to 2,880 m. It covers 60 ha and offers 26 km of pistes, 30 pistes and 12 lifts. With a base around 1,640 m, a vertical drop of 1,240 m and average annual snowfall of about 400 cm, Rifflsee - Pitztal offers reliable high-altitude winter conditions, supported by snowmaking on selected pistes.
The piste mix is relatively sporty for a compact ski area: around 23% intermediate, 50% advanced and 27% expert. Families are best served by the manageable areas around Mandarfen, the Dorflift Mandarfen practice area, easy access via Rifflseebahn and the convenient Sunna Alm mountain restaurant for breaks. The shared ski pass with Pitztal Glacier also gives visitors the option to expand their ski day onto a larger high-altitude area.
Rifflsee - Pitztal is a strong choice for skiers who want altitude, scenery and a quieter mountain atmosphere rather than a large, busy resort. It is easy to understand, practical for families and still interesting for confident skiers thanks to its steeper upper sections. For visitors looking to combine a compact Tyrolean ski area with access to glacier skiing, it offers a very balanced base for a winter trip.
