Zillertal Arena Piste Map
Zillertal Arena links several distinct ski sectors: Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Königsleiten and Hochkrimml. Rather than feeling like one single mountain, it skis more like a long Alpine journey, with changing scenery, different altitudes and plenty of scope for full-day routes.
Zell am Ziller is one of the main access points and works well if you want to start from the valley. Rosenalmbahn and Karspitzbahn are key lifts here, opening up the main ski area and giving access to longer descents back towards the valley.
Gerlos is popular for its higher position and central location within the ski area. The slopes around Gerlos suit intermediates especially well, with broad red pistes and good connections in both directions. Dorfbahn Gerlos is a practical lift for getting straight from the village into the ski area.
Königsleiten and Hochkrimml add a more open, higher-altitude feel. These sectors are good for skiers who enjoy longer crossings, wide pistes and big mountain views. On clear days, the panoramas across the surrounding peaks are a major part of the experience.
Beginners and families should focus on the easier blue and gentler red pistes near the main access points before committing to longer routes across the resort. Advanced skiers will get more from the longer red pistes and the smaller selection of black sections. The longest run is around 11 km, so Zillertal Arena is well suited to skiers who like covering distance.
For freestyle and playful skiing, the resort includes official parks such as Snowpark Gerlos, Funpark Hochkrimml and Actionpark Kreuzwiese. Together with tubing lanes, tobogganing and family attractions, these areas make the terrain more varied than a standard piste-only ski week.
