Ještěd sits above Liberec in northern Czechia, on the slopes of the distinctive Ještěd ridge near the Jizera Mountains. It is a city-adjacent ski area with a proper mountain feel, offering views over Liberec and the unmistakable outline of the Ještěd tower above the slopes. The ski resort area covers 20 ha, with 8.6 km of pistes, 12 pistes and 11 lifts. Skiing runs from around 540 m to 930 m, giving a vertical drop of 390 m. The terrain is mostly suited to skiers with some confidence: about 18% of pistes are intermediate, 71% advanced and 11% expert. Snowmaking supports the area when natural snowfall is variable. Ještěd works well for families and mixed groups who want convenient skiing without a long transfer. FunPark, Ještěd Ski School, rental and servicing make it easy for beginners and children, while Nová Skalka and the sportier red pistes give stronger skiers enough pace for a satisfying day. Choose Ještěd for accessible Czech skiing, city convenience and a memorable mountain setting.
