A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
On a sunny day with nice weather, there are no parking spaces, even with purchased passes. You can walk a few kilometers with your kids and your equipment. At the end of an hour-long traffic jam, a man waits, throwing up his hands. Shameful. Money sunk into a GoPass card. Never again.

If I can, I'll come back here again. It's much better here than Zieleniec or Białka. It's a 9-hour drive to the ski resort, and the satisfaction is truly immense.

I'm here for the third time, it's definitely cheaper and 100% better than in Poland!!!

The intention is that the Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort is actually a very good resort. So I can only recommend it.

We were there at the end of January/beginning of February and had wonderful weather. We booked a room in a small, inexpensive guesthouse, perfectly adequate for sleeping and breakfast. Ski passes and rentals aren't much cheaper compared to Austria, so the proximity is really the only thing that makes it worthwhile. We were beginners and skiing for the first time. You can take group lessons, but you don't get much instruction. However, if you don't have much time or are a bit clumsy, you can ski down the blue and maybe even the red slopes at Medvedin after 2-3 days. For beginners, it's definitely good value for money, provided you can find affordable accommodation. Food and drinks in the restaurants are very good, cheaper than in Germany, but not always! There are both cheap and expensive restaurants in the center. Friendliness on site... well, mixed feelings, I'd say. Be aware that you can't pay by card in all places. If you pay in euros, you get change in crowns, but at a very poor exchange rate. If you have no other way to pay, it's best to use the smallest denomination you can find – that's my tip! It's better to withdraw money from an ATM beforehand.

The current runs are isolated and dotted around the town and really need more variety, connectivity and runs. Currently, you need to drive from one side of town to the other if you actually want to ski the total 30km of pistes in a day. Unless you dont mind doing the same few runs over and over (yawn). The queues were also pretty long for the chair lifts. The coffee shops, bars on the mountain seem pretty basic. With this in mind, I found the lift pass prices to be totally unrealistic and very poor value for money. The town centre itself has some good hotels, bars and restaurants but parking can be an issue. The weather was pretty rubbish and snow was pretty much porridge. Weather is not the fault of the resort but it does mean resorts like this really need to offer something extra. Unfortunately its seems to be a resort dominated by greed and failing to put the paying customers first. Couldn't fault VIP ski school who did a great job with our rental and lessons.

First and certainly not the last time, a really great place:)

Selfish, brazen capitalism at its finest. No multi-hour passes?! I remember a few years ago, when choosing a resort in the Czech Republic, thinking it was RIDICULOUS that they didn't have multi-hour passes. I came back years later – and it's still the same :/ My friends and I have never lasted more than four hours of intense skiing. Moreover, the longer we stay, the more crowded we are, the more bumps there are – it gets worse and worse. So you're paying for a whole day, and you only get a few hours of enjoyable skiing!
So you're throwing money down the drain.
Of course, I know there are those who spend most of their time at a ski resort hanging out at bars :D But I don't speak for those kinds of people!
Likewise, I don't care about the silly excuses why a capitalist is right to do what they do because it's profitable for THEM. I am a CUSTOMER! My life isn't motivated by doing good for the "salesperson"... my goal is to do good for MYSELF. And only because everyone on the other side of the barricade wants to do "good"... in capitalism, a "point of balance" should be reached.
For me, it's a stretch, compared to other centers, that there are no multi-hour passes.

We came here for the first and last time. It was a complete disaster. Due to poor conditions, most lifts were closed and skiers were redirected to a few open ones (which caused a huge crowd). This meant we had to take a ski bus, only to discover that the lift there had also been closed. However, there was no way to transfer a lift pass because a single lift "was operating somewhere nearby." Besides, they have the right to close lifts 180 minutes before their scheduled closing time, without any compensation. They are very adept at following the regulations, but the website contains false information – claiming the slopes are open when in fact they've been closed for two days!

I always liked Spindleruv Mlyn, unfortunately, but this ski resort is open from 9 to 5. Prices are constantly increasing and conditions are constantly worsening. The slopes are still not groomed. Prices are outrageous. Their supposedly heated cable car does not work on Sveti Petr, so in sub-zero temperatures you sit on the skis like on a piece of ice.
