Saas-Fee - Saastal features 100 km of groomed pistes spread across several sectors, including Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, and Saas-Almagell. The elevation ranges from 1,800 m to 3,600 m, delivering a consistent snowpack and glacier skiing opportunities well into spring. The terrain is served by 22 lifts, with a mix of gondolas, high-speed quads, surface lifts and double chairs. The longest run stretches 9 km from the glacier summit to the valley, offering spectacular scenery and varied gradients.

Beginner terrain is concentrated near the village base at Saas-Fee, where gentle slopes and surface lifts support progression. The nursery area adjacent to the ski school includes snow games and tubing zones, while wide blue pistes run close to the village, making it easy for families to remain close to their accommodation. The low percentage of beginner runs is offset by high-quality instruction and protected areas for early learners.

Intermediate skiers will enjoy the lengthy descents from Längfluh and Spielboden, which blend panoramic views with rolling terrain. These pistes feature reliable grooming and a steady gradient that’s ideal for developing technique and enjoying sustained carving sessions. Notable runs include piste 11 and piste 5, which link back to the village via scenic routes through alpine bowls.

Advanced terrain makes up 38% of the resort, with red pistes forming the backbone of the glacier sector. The Morenia area offers higher-speed runs with wide radii for experienced skiers, while the descent from Mittelallalin tests endurance with glacial exposure and variable conditions. Saas-Grund features steep sections with tight corners for more technical skiing.

Expert skiers can tackle black pistes near the glacier ridge and explore freeride sections under controlled avalanche zones. Piste 12 presents demanding gradients alongside natural features that change with snowfall. Ski patrol and lift access are well coordinated, giving expert riders freedom to explore without sacrificing safety. Avalanche safety gear is recommended for off-piste sections between Längfluh and Morenia.

The terrain park is located below Morenia and includes a halfpipe, a tubing lane and 12 park rails across different difficulty levels. It’s serviced by its own surface lift and maintained regularly to ensure progressive performance. Morning sessions offer the best landing conditions, while the viewing platform next to the café creates an ideal place to watch or film action.
