A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
My partner and I visited the first week of April. Although it hadn't snowed for some time, the snow on the top half of the mountain was excellent and piste grooming better than anywhere else I have visited (including 3 Vallees, Ischgl etc). However we would not return under any circumstances as there seems little interest in making visitors feel they are getting value for money. The lift passes have no reduction for seniors, and so work out more expensive than the top resorts we've visited in the past. Unfortunately my partner was only able to ski the short beginner accessed by drag lift due to a knee injury (there are two at the top, but only one of these was working when we visited). We were annoyed to find on our 4th day that the only drag shut before 3.30 in the afternoon! Added to that, the two umbrella bars at the top of the gondolas couldn't be bothered to open after Sunday. Ok, there weren't many visitors, but we paid the same price for a lift pass as those visiting in February half term, so we expect the same facilities to be available. Total lack of respect for skiers spending their hard-earned cash. I have drawn these points to the attention of the Tourist Office and they say they will look into it. The skiing here is fabulous for those wanting simple corduroy cruising (me!) and if you want this too I'd recommend the place but check with the tourist office first to see if they are allowing bar owners and lift operators to work whatever hours they choose, or if they have brought them into line. No seasonal reductions and no reduction for seniors is a big drawback too.

Ski resort has very bad value to price ratio.
Small number of ski routes.
During our stay ski trails were missing markings
Gondola and chairs were breaking down frequently even the "new" Ganzer X-press
Ski trails were poorly prepared
Chair lifts don't have covers to shelter from wind
I would not recommend going there at any circumstances due to poor maintenance of this area and boring ski routes.
They seems to not invest money in this resort as it has low potential

Plenty of snow whether December or April and the pistes are always well prepared. It is a safe resort allowing older kids to explore on their own. We have been coming for 6 years and only once experienced queues at lifts but it was the February school holiday. There are several great restaurants in the ski area.
If this resort isn't enough of a challenge access to the Kitzbühl arena is a 5minute drive away.
