Mölltaler Gletscher is in Carinthia, Austria, close to Flattach and set within the high-alpine landscape of Hohe Tauern National Park. It is Carinthia’s only glacier ski area, with skiing reaching up to 3,122 m, helping it offer reliable winter conditions. Average annual snowfall is listed at around 450 cm, with snowmaking supporting key parts of the ski area. The ski resort area covers 360 ha, with 36 km of skiable terrain, 16 pistes and 8 lifts. The piste mix is notably sporty: around 15% intermediate, 58% advanced and 27% expert. This makes Mölltaler Gletscher best suited to confident skiers who want open slopes, high-altitude snow and a more athletic mountain feel. Families can still make use of ski schools, rental services and easier marked sections, while stronger skiers will get the most from the red and black pistes, the Snowpark and the upper-mountain views. Access via the Gletscher Express is straightforward, and Restaurant Eissee gives the ski day a useful mountain base.
