Reviews

Agnieszka Golańska-Bault

In the Lungau region, this is probably the most beautifully situated resort – you feel like you're on a glacier. However, of all the resorts we skied, it was the one we enjoyed the least. We were there in mid-January with our family. There were a lot of people on the slopes (though there were no lines for gondolas or chairlifts). The slopes were poorly groomed (it hadn't snowed in a while), so there were ice and occasional bumps, making the red runs look like black runs and the blue runs look like red runs. Not really for beginners or learners. The pubs lacked atmosphere, with loud music – "commercial." We didn't ski everything, so we'll probably go back next time and maybe the experience will be better. In any case, after Obertauern, we were happy to return to the smaller but very peaceful and charming resorts of Katschberg, Grosseck-Speiereck, and Fanningberg. We felt much better there, and the views were just as amazing. And the slopes were longer!
