Ramsau am Dachstein is in Styria, Austria, on a sunny high plateau below the Dachstein massif and within the Schladming-Dachstein region. It is best suited to relaxed family skiing, beginners and visitors who want a quieter winter base rather than a large, high-speed ski circuit. With skiing between about 1,200 m and 1,600 m, snowmaking support and average snowfall of around 600 cm per season, it offers dependable conditions for learning and easy-going winter days. The ski resort area covers 7 ha and offers 30 km of pistes, 13 pistes and 10 lifts. The terrain mix is around 17% beginner, 47% intermediate, 33% advanced and 3% expert, so Ramsau works well for progression rather than extreme skiing. Its scale is compact, manageable and especially appealing for families who want simple logistics. The main family focus is around Rittisberg and Kali’s Adventure Slopes, where children learn with the mascot Kali the Ramsaur and playful themed areas. Ramsau am Dachstein is a strong choice if you want a calm, child-friendly ski holiday with easy slopes, good learning areas and the added appeal of cross-country skiing and winter activities across the Dachstein plateau.
